  • Portrait of Herbie Hancock
    By E.J. Gold

E.J. Gold's portrait of Herbie Hancock is now in the permanent collection of the National Museum of American History

Heidelberg Editions International is proud to announce that E.J. Gold's portrait of Herbie Hancock is now in the permanent collection of the National Museum of American History. Hancock, named in 2004 an NEA Jazz Master and recipient of numerous other honors, was responsible in large part for Gold's getting involved in the field of jazz. Gold, who was immersed in the 1960s folk music scene at the time, states that because of the encouragement and assistance of Herbie Hancock, Donald Byrd, Ray Brown, Milt Hinton and Philly Joe Jones, he ventured into his lifelong love affair with jazz and jazz art.
